This is the power of culture:
it turns the “other” into “us,”
connecting our most personal truths
to the largest planetary goals.
~ Yo-Yo Ma, Silk Road Project

For the past three years, we have operated an independent ticketing portal. Instead of charging fees, we absorbed the costs and waited to see if you would enjoy the same music that we do. To our unabashed joy, you did! Today, we remain independent. However, as our programming has expanded, we need a little help to keep our digital world humming. In 2020, we began charging $3 per ticket at checkout. This is far less than other platforms and presenters are asking and it makes a big difference to us. Become a member and we’ll waive this fee for one year.
Many of the artists we present have powerful stories. Some identity as activists. Others have experiences to share about how music has shaped their lives in meaningful ways. Still, others can tell a good joke and make you laugh. Emissaries and Ambassadors are invited to gather before select shows for intimate artist talks.
Before tickets go on sale to the general public, you'll have early-bird access to select events throughout the year, including Barbès in the Woods on August 8th and Cimafunk at Gateway City on May 6th. Keep your eye on your inbox, we’ll be announcing more shows soon!

In addition to advance access, we’re offering members only pricing for Barbès in the Woods - $40 for adults and $10 for children. This offer is good until date so grab yours before they’re gone. After date, standard pricing will apply.
Spread the word and share good music! When you buy two tickets to a show, we’ll email you a coupon code for a third ticket to that same show free.* Invite a friend, family member, co-worker, neighbor, or whomever. Become an important ambassador today and it won’t cost you a million dollars and a court subpoena :)

*Some restrictions apply. Excludes Barbes in the Woods and Special Events.

Art is how we decorate space,
music is how we decorate time.

of Haitian and Puerto Rican descent

I would like to believe that if I am deeply moved by a song originating from some place other than my own hometown, then I have in some way shared an experience with the people of that culture.

I have been pleasantly contaminated.

The arts are what makes life worth living. You’ve got food, you’ve got shelter, yeah. But the things that make you laugh, make you cry, make you connect – make you love are communicated through the arts. They aren’t extras.

Barack Obama

Former President
United States

International arts exchange is fundamental because it creates an environment for genuine compromise and conciliation, enhances the education of all citizens, fosters tolerance of diverse cultures within our country, and prepares us to contribute both artistically and economically within the global society.

Guiomar Ochoa

Culture creates trust, seeks truth, and asks us always to work in service of one another. It completes us. With these values as our guiding star, I believe that we can begin to connect the hyper-local on-the-ground reality to the most abstract, planetary goals, all in one uninterrupted arc, like an electric current.

That is the power of culture: it turns the “other” into “us,” connecting our most personal truths to the largest planetary goals.

Yo-Yo Ma

Musician

Perhaps one of the greatest means to achieve global peace and harmony is cultural exchange. It opens up the vistas of human understanding and further expands our universal consciousness. Let us raise ourselves from the narrow perspective of being a citizen of a particular country to global citizenship that is the greatest demand of modern world.
