Securely ranked among Scotland’s most skilled and imaginative contemporary folk acts, Breabach unite deep roots in Highland and Island traditions with the innovative musical ferment of their Glasgow base. Last year saw the release of their seventh album Fàs (Gaelic for growing/developing/sprouting), heavily inspired by the natural environment of their homeland. The protection, conservation, and regeneration of the natural world influenced every part of the album’s creation, from song composition and material sourcing to the recording process and album production. The National describes their latest release as “beautiful, exciting and filled with some much-needed optimism.” Sounds like the perfect Valentine’s Day date night to us.
Internationally acclaimed archguitarist Peter Blanchette will open the evening for an event not to be missed.
