Join us for a backyard summer party with Bombyx Brass and Mountain River Taiko!
What happens when a 30-piece brass and percussion ensemble shares the stage with a Japanese drumming troupe in a performance featuring a wide array of popular musical styles? The answer is “Rhythm Pops!” The Bombyx Brass Collective will be playing tunes by the Beatles, Santana, Norah Jones, John Williams, and lots more. We are excited to welcome Bombyx Brass members Lucy Colwell and Richard Cuoco to the podium as guest conductors for this program, and as always Music Director Margaret Reidy. Join The Bombyx Brass Collective and their guests, Mountain River Taiko, as they create gigantic sound and rhythm like nothing previously heard in the Bombyx Sanctuary.
Ginger Love Cafe will be serving delicious Filipino Street Food. Gates open at 6pm for dinner and the performance begins at 7pm. Bring your lawn chair or your blanket, we’ll have a limited number of folding chairs. Bug spray is also highly recommended.
As always, admission to the ensembles’ performances is free of charge, but donations are always gratefully accepted, with all proceeds going to support future programming and advocacy in the community.
