Drummer Mike Mitchell aka Blaque Dynamite follows no formula. He reimagines jazz as a cross-genre Hummer driving across challenging, fantastic landscapes: “The shit that’s pushed and most represented in jazz is the old swing shit, which is badass, but nobody gives a fuck about swing no more. We on some new shit.”

Mike got on the kit when he was two years old and was an endorsed drummer by the time he was 11. He held down the drums for Stanley Clarke before graduating high school. Other collaborations include the likes of Chick Corea, Christian McBride, Erykah Badu, Kamasi Washington, and MonoNeon.
