The evening begins with a performance by Yonatan Gat (acclaimed guitarist from Monotonix) and Medicine Singers, the revered drum group who sing in an Eastern Algonquin language indigenous to Massachusetts (the collaboration has spawned an album due out this July). A presentation will follow about the Alliance For a Viable Future, concluding with a special musical performance by John Medeski and Friends. The idea for the benefit was hatched this March when Medeski, an old friend of AVF founder Lev Natan, played Bombyx as a member of Club D’Elf and discovered our vintage pipe organ which will undoubtedly play a part in his performance.
*** Neftalí Duran, indigenous chef from the I-Collective, will also join the gathering with a Oaxacan-style taco pop-up from 5-7PM. ***
The Alliance for a Viable Future (AVF), located in the Berkshires, is a visionary organization founded in 2018 by Lev Natan. AVF is committed to bringing together climate conscious business, non-profit, and community leaders in the Northeast who are doing everything in their power to create a viable future for the children and generations to come. This bold attainable vision depends on increasing awareness and fundraising which is the motivation behind this exciting event, a combination of musical performances and an informative talk.
