Myrtle Street Klezmer

Myrtle Street Klezmer is a new project from clarinetist Jason Ditzian – an ecstatic exploration into the past, present & future of klezmer. Featuring Myk Freedman (guitar); Jesse Olsen Bay (sousaphone, percussion, bass, guitar, vocals), Doug Plavin (percussion), Dan Baker (Tuba) and Marié Abe (accordion).

Jason has worked in the tradition of the old world klezmers for 20+ years, performing throughout the US at countless concerts and lifecycle events. His San Francisco-based ensemble, Kugelplex, has collaborated with Joan Baez, SF Symphony, Oakland Symphony, Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir, Frank London, Linda Tillery, Kitka and many others. For 15 years, Jason performed, recorded and toured the world with Jewlia Eisenberg and her radical jewish culture ensemble, Charming Hostess (Tzadik Records).
